Foodie Penpals!

When I was younger I was obsessed with having penpals. I had penpals all over the US and it was truly the most fun thing ever! Exchanging photos and stickers and other stupid things that no one really cares about unless you are 12...it's the best. While I was stumbling around the Internet, I found out about Foodie Penpals hosted by Lindsay of The Lean Green Bean. Basically every month you are set up with another foodie lover - either a fellow blogger or a reader - find out their likes and dislikes and send them $15 worth of goodies. In turn, you will receive the same from someone else that shops for you. Receiving a box of snacks in the mail is like Christmas and it introduced me to new things that I haven't tried before!

My foodie penpal package came from Kelly of Cupcake Kelly's. I was very excited to see that she shopped mostly at my favorite grocery store, Trader Joes. Surprisingly I have not tried any of the above so I knew right away this package was going to be good. I received Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries (which are amazing by the way), Sweet Savory & Tart Granola Bars, Fiberful fruit leathers, Berry Granola and the big special part - Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter by Peanut Butter & Co., which is Kelly's favorite peanut butter.

All I told Kelly was that I enjoy organic treats, love dark chocolate and peanut butter. Oh and I hate peas! I am so happy with my Foodie Penpal experience that I signed up for March's Foodie Penpal exchange. Can't wait to give this another go!

If you are wondering, I sent a Foodie Penpal package to blogger Sarah Hanna. Check out her foodie penpal post on what I sent her here at her site!

(side note: thanks for the kind words on my previous post which was written back in October. I have gone through and am still going through one of the biggest ruts of my life and I don't know how else to explain it but I am sure you get it. I don't want to drag sadness into every post I write from now on because it's not fair to me or my dad, who didn't raise me to be a huge mope. That said, I am trying and despite shitty circumstances, things are looking up. I have scored myself a really good new job and a new apartment that I love...I think my dad would be proud, so here's to that.)
